Wigglers & Walkers

Wiggle with pleasure every third Wednesday of the month for child-friendly fun with Museum docents and staff. Join your preschoolers to learn about Museum exhibits through stories, crafts and other age-appropriate activities. Members: $4 adult/child pair. Non-members: $5 adult/child pair. $2 for each additional child. No pre-registration required. Questions? Call (352) 273-2061.

Animal Appearances - Let's face it: some animals are funny-looking! From butterflies to alligators, find out why animals come in all shapes and sizes.

Size - Wednesday, Sept. 17 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Shape - Wednesday, Oct. 15 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Color - Wednesday, Nov. 19 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.



GRADES K - 5

Bodily Functions
Oct. 27 | 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Delve into digestion to discover why cows have four-chambered stomachs and how owls digest their prey whole. Make sense of the senses and investigate the body's vessels with the Grossology exhibit.

Animal Illustrations
Saturdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 | 1 - 3 p.m.

Join local instructor Janet Porcelli to explore the art of drawing wildlife, and the not so wild. Discover animals through the magic of colored pencils during this four-session series. Explore the background of these animals and learn to capture their images in pencil portraits. Learn about color, value and composition. Create original works of art, ready to frame and display.
