This is a live view inside the University of Florida Bat Barn, built in 2010. Because fewer bats live in the Bat Barn, the webcam shows much less activity than the view from inside the Bat House. Officials are hopeful more bats will colonize this building in the future. The Bat Barn is similar in design to the Bat House in that it has an open area above the roosting chambers where bats can fly during the day protected from predators. This "attic" is where the webcam is mounted.

Best times for viewing:

The best viewing times are throughout the day when temperatures are above 65 F and especially just before the bats emerge at dusk.
