Pollinator Photography Contest

Winners of the fourth annual Pollinator Photography Contest will be announced Oct. 13, 2012, during ButterflyFest at the Florida Museum of Natural History.

The purpose of the Pollinator Photography Contest is to educate and promote awareness of local pollinators through photography. Photos must include at least one pollinator in the photograph, whether a bat, bee, bird, butterfly or moth.

Deadline: Entries must be received between Aug. 16, 2012 - Sept. 3, 2012.

Awards

First- and second-place winners in each category will receive award checks, with prize packages given to third-place winners.

The Florida Museum will display all winning and honorable mention photos through Nov. 30, 2012. These photos will also be included on the ButterflyFest website, and will be published in The Gainesville Sun on Sunday, Oct. 14. An awards ceremony will take place during ButterflyFest at on Saturday, Oct. 13.

1st Place - Adult (ages 18 and up)

  • $100 check

2nd Place - Adult

  • $25 check and four Butterfly Rainforest tickets ($30 value)

3rd Place - Adult

  • Four Butterfly Rainforest tickets ($30 value)

1st Place - Junior (ages 10-17)

  • $75 check

2nd Place - Junior

  • $25 check

3rd Place - Junior

  • Two Butterfly Rainforest tickets ($15 value)
