This film is a great American story about an artist who changed the world. Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Jay Norwood Darling (Oct. 21, 1876 – Feb. 12, 1962) was a leader in conservation education and preservation of natural resources. President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed him as the head of what would become the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and "Ding" helped found the National Wildlife Federation. The J.N. 'Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge" on Sanibel Island, Fla., is named in his honor.
