Paleosuchus palpebrosus
These two animals appear to be basking in a typical Paleosuchus pose, with their heads
raised and eyes closed. The bodies of dwarf caimans are highly ossified and armoured, which is apparent
from the heavy scutes running down the back of the neck and along the back. Dwarf caimans are primarily nocturnal, terrestrial hunters - although
there is still remarkably little that we know about their habits.
