On the date it was taken (15 May 2007) Reggie continued to roam the lake with no outwardly aggression to bystanders. In fact, Reggie maintained his distance! He was quite an amazing sight amidst a concrete jungle. In Reggie's best interest, a team was due to arrive this summer to trap Reggie and relocate him to the Los Angeles Zoo. I was extremely fortunate to have an opportune photo of him roaming free." I've changed Des' story to the past tense, because on 24 May Reggie was captured by city employees and a staff member from LA Zoo where he is currently under quarantine. You can read more about that here. Des took the photograph with a Canon EOS 5D with a Canon IS 100-400mm lens, fully extended. Would you like to enter your best photograph as a potential Pic of the Month? Send it to me and I'll include the best here each month. Each year I run a competition where the best photograph each year is awarded a prize. To be in contention the picture must, above all, capture your attention. |
