Wigglers & Walkers

Wiggle with pleasure every third Wednesday of the month for child-friendly fun with Museum docents and staff. Join your preschoolers to learn about Museum exhibits through stories, crafts and other age-appropriate activities. Members: $4 adult/child pair, non-members: $5, Each additional child: $2. Animal Homes - Take your crawlers and toddlers on a museum expedition and explore animal homes and discover that playing house isn't just for little kids.

Day Classes

Each class session is $72 for members/ $86 non-members. Students should dress appropriately for outdoor activities and all students should bring a sack lunch. Pre-registration is required. Questions? Call (352) 273-2061.

The Galapagos
Jan. 18 | 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Discover the exceptional Galapagos Islands! From marine iguanas and island penguins to fur seals and the largest living tortoises on Earth, find out how these animals are specially adapted to their tropical home.

Mysteries of Madagascar
March 28 | 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Wide-eyed lemurs, color-changing chameleons and jumping rats: Madagascar is home to some of the planet's most unique animals. Come explore Earth's fourth-largest island.

Spring Break Camp

Pre-registration is required. Each camp session is $105 for members/ $130 non-members. A full-day camp registration is $200 for members/ $250 non-members. Students should dress for the weather and outdoor activities. Pick-up for the AM session is 12 - 12:30 p.m. and drop-off for the PM session is 12:30 - 1 p.m. Students staying for the full day should bring a sack lunch to eat during the break between classes.

AM Camp: Congo Expedition [Section FULL: Grades K/1, 2/3; Waitlist available.]
April 7-11 | 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Explore the Congo rainforest, one of the few remaining homes for gorillas, forest elephants and bonobos. Learn about these fascinating animals and more in this jungle trek.

PM Camp: Saharan Caravan [Section FULL: Grades K/1; Waitlist available.]
April 7-11 | 1 - 4:30 p.m.

Take an imaginative journey across the Sahara with its native peoples and learn about antelopes, cheetahs, scorpions and jackals.

Let's Explore! Science Series

L.E.S.S. is more at the Florida Museum of Natural History! Join the Museum on select Saturdays this spring and learn about animal tales from Africa. Animal Illustrations
Saturdays, Jan. 19, 26 & Feb. 2, 9 | 1 - 3 p.m.

Local art instructor Janet Porcelli has been teaching art to children and adults for several years. Join her and discover endangered animals through colored pencil during this four-day class. Explore the background of these animals and learn to capture their fleeting images in pencil portraits. Learn about color, texture and composition. Create original, nature-inspired works of art, ready to frame and display! Supplies are provided. This class makes a unique gift idea for young artists!
