The voyage from Bali to Komodo Island in the Indonesian Archipelago is perhaps best described as exploring an exotic paradise. However, this simply doesn't do it justice. These islands are in an immensely spectacular wilderness surrounded only by a vast underwater world teeming with exotic reef fish, vibrant corals, and impeccably clear waters. Combine this with wildly unusual animals on land, including the famous Komodo Dragon, and cultures as diverse as the amazing wildlife, and you'll soon realize that you truly are on the other side of the world.

This expedition is ideal for any traveler searching for not only the exotic, but a genuinely engaging expedition, as we explore local cultures, the boundless undersea life, terrestrial wildlife, and stunning landscapes found throughout the island chain. On this special expedition, you will be joined by experts from the Florida Museum of Natural History, including Kurt Auffenberg, who, as a youth lived amongst the Komodo Dragons with his parents while conducting some of the first scientific studies on these creatures in the early 1970s. Through nightly discussions, you'll gain a unique understanding of the Indonesian archipelago, as well as the distinctive wildlife both above and below water.
