Comments Invited on Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management

NOAA Fisheries Service and the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council are seeking public comments on a draft Environmental Impact Statement. This document analyzes step one of the implementation of an ecosystem approach to fisheries management in the Western Pacific region, including American Samoa, Guam, Hawaii, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Pacific Remote Island Areas. The proposed action would move from species-based fishery management plans to place-based fishery ecosystem plans.

Written comments must be received by December 19. Comments may be sent to WPEAMPEIS@noaa.gov; please include "Draft Programmatic EIS" in the subject line of the email.
