Public Invited to Comment on Information Collection in the Alaska Groundfish Fisheries
November 28, 2006
Release from:
NOAA
The owners of shoreside processors and stationary floating processors and the owners of catcher/processors and motherships operating in the exclusive economic zone off Alaska are required to submit the Commercial Operator's Annual Report to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Participants transmit annual reports by U.S. mail. These reports provide information on ex-vessel and first wholesale values for fish and shellfish products. The equivalent annual product value information for all respective processing sectors provides a consistent time series to support the management of groundfish resources.
Comments are invited on: (a) whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden (including hours and cost) of the proposed collection of information; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology. Comments may be sent to dHynek@doc.gov through January 22, 2007.
