Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for Pacific Groundfish

In cooperation with the Pacific Fishery Management Council, NOAA Fisheries has announced its intention to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for 2005-2006 Pacific Coast groundfish fishery specifications and management measures on the human environment. A public scoping meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2003 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This scoping session will coincide with the Council meeting and will occur at the same location, the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar, 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar, California 92014- 1901 (858-792-5200). Written comments will be accepted at the Council office through November 14, 2003. A document summarizing issues and alternatives will be made available on the Council's Web site at www.pcouncil.org. Written comments on suggested alternatives and potential impacts should be sent to Donald McIsaac, Executive Director, Pacific Fishery Management Council, 7700 NE Ambassador Place, Suite 200, Portland, OR 97220-1384.
