Shark Specialist Group member Erich Ritter has just launched a new
Zurich-based media information service. Shark Info will provide
clearing house to convey accurate and interesting information from
the shark research community to educate the general public through
the news media. Initially focused on German-speaking Europe, the
service will make articles and photographs available free of charge to
newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations. Its objective is to
ensure that the increasing public interest and awareness in sharks and
rays is maintained without the need to resort to sensationalist and
inaccurate reporting.
