Shark Guide Available To Public
August 29, 2004

Release from: Island Packet Online (Hilton Head, South Carolina)

The first comprehensive guide to sharks is available to the public free of charge through the state Department of Natural Resources.

"Sharks of South Carolina" covers 13 families and 39 species indigenous to inshore and offshore waters.

All but a few of the species presented in the publication are regulated by specific size and possession limits or are completely protected by state and federal laws. Therefore, it is important for anglers to be able to distinguish between the various species.

The guide is available through Department of Natural Resources coastal offices as well as various tackle shops, sporting good stores and marinas along the coast.

For more information, call (843) 953-9300.
