Another court case is looming over the management of the country's shark fishery.

In a landmark decision earlier this month the Administrative Appeals Tribunal ruled the allocation of quota to a Victorian shark fisherman was unfair.

But the Australian Fisheries Management Authority has now launched a Federal Court appeal to try to overturn the decision.
