Investigating Team from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-10
At approximately 10:40am on January 30, 2005, our team arrived in Purok 1A, Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City. The dead shark was
confirmed as a megamouth shark ( Megachasma pelagios), measuring a total length of 417 cm and weighing approximately
1,000 kg. The fins were removed by unknown persons as narrated by on-lookers; three of the fins were later recovered.
