Sawfish Recovery Team: Recovery Plan Meeting
The Sawfish Recovery Team met in Flamingo, Florida on February 8 - 10, 2005 to continue progress of recovery plans.
Participants included Shelley Norton, Colin Simpfendorfer, George H. Burgess, John K. Carlson, Sonja V. Fordham, Julie K. Morris,
David O'Brien, Greg Poulakis, and Thomas Schmidt.
The Recovery Team spent the three days drafting recovery plan criteria and made great progress in completing initial drafts of
background section addressing life history, ecology, threats, and historical distribution. In addition, the team took part in
field sampling for sawfishes in northern Florida Bay during two evening field excursions.
