Whale Shark Research on the Belize Barrier Reef
Help Unravel the Whale Shark Mystery
You can help the local and global whale shark research efforts
by sending us photos of the spot patterns behind the
gills and on the first dorsal fin and keeping reporting tag
numbers or tag types to us. Please take a moment to note
down the following information after sighting one or more
whale sharks during your time on the reef:

- Any distinguishing features or scars
- Tag type (marker, acoustic), number, and placement
