Kurt Auffenberg is the Collection Manager for the Department of Exhibits and Public Programs at the Florida Museum of Natural History. Before transferring to Powell Hall in 1998, he was the Collection Manager in the Division of Malacology for 18 years. He is coordinating the research, script-writing phases, and specimen preparation of the invertebrate component of the Fossil Hall project. He is a Florida native with extensive knowledge of the regional biota, both past and present. He has traveled widely throughout Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and the US. He has also published numerous papers on the living land snails of southern Asia and fossil terrestrial mollusks of Florida.
