Surfing Florida
Aug. 29 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Surf’s up! The Florida Museum celebrates the state’s famous coastal waters with the exhibit Surfing Florida. Developed by Florida Atlantic University, the exhibit features photographs and interpretive graphics on the state’s surfing history, as well as videos with famous film clips and oral histories from well-known Florida surfers. The Florida Museum’s research programs will broaden the scope of the exhibition with surf memorabilia and specimens to explore the question “What’s under the surf?” The Florida Museum’s famed International Shark Attack File and shark research programs, fish and marine invertebrate collections, and other areas will contribute to the science content.
This annual event highlights one of the Museum’s collections for ONE NIGHT ONLY! Members at the Supporting level or higher enjoy tasty hors d'oeuvres, live music and beverages. You don't want to miss out on this special evening, so call 352-273-2047 to upgrade your membership today!
