Research Interests

My primary research interests are behavioral and community ecology, with a focus on predator-prey dynamics. Much of my interest in predator-prey relationships stems around the concept of decision-making and the evolution of those relationships. Currently my research looks at these relationships in a system with an introduced predator species. The role introduced species play is poorly understood. Furthering our understanding will assist not only in managing invaded systems, but also complement our knowledge of predator-prey dynamics.

Dissertation Title

Ph.D.: Evaluating Impacts on Community Structure by an Invasive Species, the Burmese Python (Python molurus), in Everglades National Park

Primary Faculty Advisor: Dr. Frank Mazzotti and Dr. Carl Fitz

Currently my research explores the role introduced species can play in changing community structure. I hope to evaluate impacts on community structure in Everglades National Park by the Burmese Python (Python molurus) and use this understanding to develop a predictive model that can assess potential success of differing management scenarios.
