This page contains a searchable synonymy database for the Miconieae. The database currently lists over 6200 names that have been applied to species in this, the largest tribe of Melastomataceae. Included with each taxon are the basionym, synonyms and literature references. In the future, this database may include additional information on each species such as descriptions, images, distribution maps, IUCN status, natural history, etc.

As floristic projects around the world progress, the same classes of information will be made available for other tribes.

This database was created using the Botanical Research and Herbarium Management System (BRAHMS) database.
