Gomek being fed a pre-killed nutria (a large South American rodent). The person in the photograph gives some idea of scale. Saltwater crocodiles are considered to be more aquatic than most crocodilians, and one clue is provided by the reduced dorsal armour running down the back and the neck - which is apparent from this photograph. Post-occipital scales on the neck are often absent, and the dorsal scutes are relatively small next to other crocodilians.
