Exhibit Design - Cave Construction

The cave was designed by Sightline Studios of Starke, Florida.
It began as a steel grid frame. |

Next, wire mesh was laid over the frame. At left, Bob Leavy and
Brian Chamberlain bend a sheet into place. |

The wire infrastructure was then covered in concrete. At left,
workers from Sightline Studios spray on the the first layer. |

More concrete was added and formations were built into the floor,
ceiling and walls. At left, Ron Chesser sculpts flowstone formations
into the side of the cave. |

The concrete formations were then painted. At left, Karen Aneiro
paints a stalactite. |
