First, Brian Chamberlain painted a barrier island beach scene
mural. He used the slide projector as a reference for the colors
of the area.

After the mural was completed, a raised platform was built out
of foam. At left, Brian Chamberlain sculpts the beach shore.

A concrete bonder was then spread over the foam base.

Plants were inserted into the display before a layer of white
sand was added. At left, Tom Kyne prepares to attach Seaside Pennyworts
to the concrete base.

At left, Tom Street prepares to cut a hole in the base. A loggerhead
sea turtle nest model was placed in this area against clear display
glass, allowing visitors a peek inside.
