Removing spyware and other malware with Ad-Aware

Go to www.download.com and do a search for Ad-Aware. Download Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition.
Launch the program from either the Start/All Programs menu or from the Desktop if you created a shortcut on the desktop.
Click "Check for updates now" to check for updates before running Ad-Aware
Click "Connect"
After the updates complete (there might not be any updates to download!), Click "OK".
Click "Finish" to continue.
Click "Start" to scan your hard drive for spyware. The next page will allow you to pick a scan mode. You can perform a full system scan (takes a long time), or you can choose the default "Perform smart system scan".
Click "Next" to continue.
The results of the scan will display once Ad-Aware completes the operation.
****Ad-Aware will emit a sound and flash red if it founds any Critical Objects.****
Click "Next" to remove them.
Right-click on any one of the found objects in the list and choose "Select All Objects" if necessary.
Click on the "Critical Objects" tab.
Right-click on any one of the found objects in the list and choose "Select All Objects" if necessary.
Click "Next" to continue and remove the found objects.
Click "OK" to confirm and continue.
Ad-Aware will perform the requested action.
You are done.
You can restart your computer and run Ad-Aware again just to make sure all the objects have been removed.
