Shell is elongate in shape, with a prominent umbo (beak). Sculpture consists of coarse radial ribs (often with beads). The dentition (interior of shell) includes very fine teeth oriented along a wide, but straight, hinge line.

Size: 40-50 mm.

Ecology: inhabits shallow marine waters (5-50 m), attached to shells and stones on sandy sediment.

Geological range: Early Miocene-Late Miocene (21-8 million years ago).

Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela; Pacific – Panama, Colombia, and Peru.
