Shell is trigonal to quadrangular in shape. Sculpture consists of approximately 20 sharp, and sometimes beaded, radial ribs.

Size: 10-20 mm.

Ecology: inhabits shallow marine waters (5-50 m), burrowing in sand near the sediment surface.

Geological range: Late Miocene (11-9 million years ago).

Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama (endemic).
