Florida Museum offers new class for grades 1-2 on Oct. 29

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Museum of Natural History will offer a new class for children in grades 1-2, “Maya and the Big Pumpkin Balloon Ride” from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Participants will join Florida Museum staff member Tori Derr for a story-based adventure and illustrate story pages as Maya rides a pumpkin balloon to Mexico to witness the magical Monarch migration. The class also will explore the Butterfly Rainforest to learn butterfly biology and let imagination take flight!
