Fla. Museum offers "Butterfly Gardening in Spring" adult class

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The Florida Museum of Natural History will offer "Butterfly Gardening in Spring," an adult class offered Saturdays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. from April 23 - May 14.

The four-week class will educate adults on a variety of butterfly and gardening topics. Participants will learn about North Central Florida butterflies and how to attract them to their gardens. Topics include basic butterfly biology, types of local butterflies, larval host and adult nectar plants, garden design, site preparation and planting, and general care and maintenance.

Hannah Nendick-Mason, a horticulturist at the Florida Museum's Butterfly Rainforest, will lead the class. Registration is $54 for Florida Museum members and $60 for non-members. There is an additional $5 fee for the May 7 field trip to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. Pre-registration is required.
