GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Visitors to the Florida Museum of Natural History's summer temporary exhibit opening June 18 will have the opportunity to observe local artists while they paint and participate in a nature print craft activity. The Florida Museum exhibit "Natural Curiosity: Artists Explore Florida" showcases artwork by 18 artists and will be displayed from June 18 – Sept. 11.
The following free special activities are planned for the June 18 opening:
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Mary Jane Volkmann plein air painting in the Butterfly Rainforest
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - "Create your own natural curiosities with museum education staff." Children of all ages can create photographic prints and several other types of nature prints using paint and vegetables, leaves, fish and feathers.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Artist and Natural Curiosity exhibition guest curator Stacey Breheny will paint children's faces in the museum's Discovery Room.
1 - 3 p.m. - Ellie Blair will paint in the Central Gallery

The Florida Museum of Natural History is Florida's state natural history museum, dedicated to understanding, preserving and interpreting biological diversity and cultural heritage.
