GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- If you're looking for something special to give your sweetheart this Valentine's Day, consider a trip to the beautiful Galapagos Islands with the Florida Museum of Natural History.

Florida Museum Ornithology Curator David Steadman, who has conducted research in the Galapagos for years and has extensive knowledge of the area's flora and fauna, will lead the expedition Nov. 29 - Dec. 8.

Participants will discover the history and beauty of this chain of islands and enjoy great up-close views of its unusual wildlife, including giant Galapagos tortoises, sunbathing iguanas, Nazca Boobies, Blue-Footed Boobies, sea lions and other species of animals unique to the islands. Travelers also will paddle glass-bottom kayaks through the beautiful waters surrounding the islands to observe the area's diversity of sea life.

Trip cost is $4,855 per person. For registration information, contact Court Whelan at expeditiontravel@gmail.com or visit www.flmnh.ufl.edu/travel/expeditions.htm or call (352) 273-2063.
