GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The Florida Museum of Natural History will hold a holiday plant sale 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 19) and 1 - 5 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 20). Visit and buy for the gardener on your shopping list!

Museum staff will be available to share how best to attract butterflies to home gardens using accent, host, native and nectar plants. For the first time the sale features the Dombeya Seminole, a hybrid plant that is difficult to find and is the most important nectar source in the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit during the winter months. All the plants offered for sale are winter bloomers and would make great holiday gifts.

The sale schedule and descriptions of available plants is posted online, www.flmnh.ufl.edu/butterflies/plant_sales.htm.

Plant prices start as low as $3 for a 4-inch pot. Larger sizes are available and range in price from $6 to $18. All proceeds benefit the Butterfly Rainforest.

For more information about the plant sale call 352-273-2043.
