GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Register now to raise a glass to the past and join the Florida Museum of Natural History from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov.1 for its “Grapes & Grains” wine and beer sampling event.
Registration for this 21+ only event is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members. Admission to temporary exhibits is included. Register online by Saturday, at http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/grapesandgrains. The first 200 registrants will receive a souvenir tasting cup.
“Grapes & Grains is a follow-up to our successful local beer sampling event this past spring, but this time we’ve added wine,” said organizer Amber Tison, who coordinates the Florida Museum’s special events and rentals. “We want to show attendees that adults can have a fun time at the museum and encourage them to take advantage of what Gainesville and the surrounding areas have to offer.”
Attendees can sample several beers and wines produced and sold regionally and explore the museum’s many exhibits. Light appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will also be served.
Featured vendors include Alligator Brewing, Bluefield Estate Winery, Bold City Brewery, Cocoa Beach Brewing Company, Mile Marker Brewing, San Sebastian Winery, Swamp Head Brewery and Thornebrook Chocolates. Swamp Head Brewery representatives also plan to bring a display to explain the beer brewing process to attendees.
