This site is for all persons interested in fossils and fossil collecting. While our focus is necessarily on Florida, the information found in these pages is applicable to fossil collecting in most areas of the United States, and broad enough to touch on every aspect of paleontology, from field collection techniques, to preparation and mounting of the fossils, to casting and moldmaking. Here, you can also find helpful references to books and professional papers dealing with paleontology, as well as addresses of vendors who sell supplies, equipment, and chemicals used in collecting and preparing fossils. You can find out what fossil clubs are located in your area and how you can acquire a fossil collecting permit to collect on state lands and rivers in Florida.  We hope this site will grow and continue to expand the topics covered in these pages as students, amateurs, professionals, and all persons interested in Florida paleontology use this resource.
