Group Arrival Information


Driving Directions

From Interstate 75: Take exit 384 (Archer Road) and travel 1 mile east on Archer Road/State Road 24. Turn north (left) on State Road 121 (SW 34th Street). Travel 3/4 mile to the third traffic signal. Turn east (right) on Hull Road. The entrance to the University of Florida Cultural Plaza is on the south (right) side of Hull Road.

From U.S. 441: Travel 2 miles west on State Road 24 (Archer Road). Turn north (right) on State Road 121 (SW 34th Street). Travel 3/4 mile to the third traffic signal. Turn east (right) on Hull Road. The entrance to the University of Florida Cultural Plaza is on the south (right) side of Hull Road.

From Jacksonville: Take I-10 west to US 301 South (exit 343) towards Starke staying on 301 to Waldo - 37.6 miles. From Waldo veer right (Gainesville sign) and drive 10 miles southwest on SR 24 (becomes Waldo Road in Gainesville). Turn west (right) onto 8th Avenue. Turn south (left) onto 34th Street and travel 1.5 miles to the traffic signal at Hull Road. Turn east (left) onto Hull Road. The entrance to the University of Florida Cultural Plaza is on the south (right) side of Hull Road.

Parking

Reserved parking for museum visitors is $4 per day (cash only), 8:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please see attendant in gated booth in front of the Harn Museum of Art.

Parking is free on weekends, State holidays and University holidays.

Designated parking spaces are available for visitors with disabilities.

Buses can park on Bledsoe Drive, just North of the Museum, across Hull Road free of charge.


Payment

One group payment only. The Museum accepts cash, organizational checks (no personal checks), American Express, Visa and MasterCard. Make checks payable to the University of Florida. If your group is less than 10 on the day of your visit, you will be charged the full admission price. Anyone not present at group check-in must pay full admission price. The Florida Museum of Natural History Admission Assistance Program provides financial assistance to economically disadvantaged school children, other individuals and community groups. Picnic Facilities

Our outdoor, covered patio area has tables and seating for about 60 people. Lunches and coolers can be placed under the covered area on the North side of the building. Additional lunch seating is available near the Natural Area. (Please do not take groups of more than 10 people to the Harn Museum's Camelia Court Café).


Gift Shops

The Florida Museum has two gift shops. The Collector's Shop is the main Museum store and has a great selection of educational, scientific and natural history-related items. Arts and crafts, science and nature kits, music, jewelry and a wide assortment of books are available here.

The Butterfly Rainforest Shop sells original artwork, mounted butterflies, cards and posters, chocolates, fashion accessories, jewelry, wind chimes, kitchen and home décor items, all with a Butterfly or Biodiversity theme.
