Volunteering - Juniors

Junior Volunteers

Junior Volunteers Tweens and teens age 12 to 17 work alongside Museum staff throughout the summer, sharing programs and exhibits with visitors and public program participants. A variety of positions are available, including discovery cart attendant, discovery room assistant, camp teacher's assistant and more. It's easy to make new friends who love the Museum just like you do. This is also a great opportunity to learn about the "behind the scenes" work necessary to present programs and events. All junior volunteers are trained and supervised.

Junior Volunteer Program - How to Apply

The Junior Volunteer Program runs on an annual calendar which begins in March each year, when 12- to 17-year-olds apply to volunteer for the coming summer. The deadline to apply for 2012 has passed and applications are no longer being accepted.

All new applicants will be interviewed on Saturday, April 28. All junior volunteers will be expected to attend the mandatory training on Sunday, June 3. The program is very popular, so applicants are encouraged to note all deadlines and requirements to ensure consideration of your application. Preference will be given to veteran volunteers invited to return and new applicants with the strongest interviews, experience and availability. Please read the cover letter and application carefully for requirements and schedule information.
