Volunteering - Public Programs
Museum On the Move-Inquiry Box Outreach Programs Volunteers
Work with education staff and other Museum on the Move volunteers to bring museum programs to school children in grades K-12. You choose the topic of the 45-minute program you'd like to share with the children. Pick from Southern Florida's Early Native People, Northern Florida's Early Native People, Florida's Seminole People, Florida's Reptiles and Amphibians, and Florida's Fossils and Geology. Programs are usually scheduled on weekdays, but there are occasional weekend programs.
Wigglers and Walkers
Work with education staff to plan and lead a monthly preschool program. Volunteers are asked to attend a planning meeting on the first Wednesday of each month and to help in leading the program on the second Wednesday of each month. No experience is needed-just a love of preschoolers and a desire to make their museum experience enjoyable and interesting.
