School Program Docents
Introduce educational programs and facilitate hands on activities in the classrooms and permanent exhibits to groups of school children on a pre-scheduled basis.
Specific tasks:
- Present natural history or science-related educational programs;
- Interact with school program participants using museum exhibits and collections to meet educational program goals;
- Interpret and lead students into parts of our permanent exhibits relating to each specific educational program.
One three hour shift per week, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m.
Docent Naturalist
Work with Education staff to facilitate student exploration and discovery in the Natural Area Teaching Laboratory, located behind the Phillips Center of the Performing Arts. Docents lead guided tours for preschool and elementary students in a variety of outdoor activities. Topics include Sensing Nature, Eye on Insects, Green Machine, Stayin' Alive, and Ecosystem Expedition.
