Parlor Chat: A Journey Through Dismay to Delight
Location: 7450 Pineland Rd., Ruby Gill House

When Diana Lane first moved to Pine Island fifty years ago she found the transition from bustling Dayton, Ohio to the wilds of Pine Island challenging while one of her greatest joys was driving one end of the island to the other without seeing another soul. It was sitting on the porch of the St. James City post office and hearing tales of bygone days from local residents that she began to assemble personal knowledge of the island’s past and its unique residents. Diana will share her stories and historic tales of Pine Island during this parlor chat to be held in the Randell Research Center's Historic 1924 Ruby Gill House located at 7450 Pineland Road.

Refreshments and door prizes will be available. The event is free for Members of the Randell Research Center and Museum of the Islands, $5 Nonmembers.
10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

This chat is a one in a series commemorating the establishment of the Pineland post office and community in 1902.
