Sal de Pacha / Salt of the Earth

As part of the Gainesville Latino Film Festival, the Museum will display seldom-seen Andean artifacts from its South American ethnographic collection. “Sal de Pacha” (Salt of the Earth) will also feature hands-on activities to illustrate the importance of salt in our lives. Visitors will gain a greater appreciation for Andean art and understanding of the necessity for salt in most biological functions.
Following this event, the Bolivian film, The Gift of Pachamama/El Regalo de la Pachamama, will be shown in the Harn Museum of Art’s Chandler Auditorium.
