POST-DOCTORAL POSITION
ANGIOSPERM PHYLOGENY / PALEOBOTANY / INFORMATICS

AND PAT HERENDEEN, GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY
We are searching for a post-doctoral researcher with informatics skills
to participate in an NSF-funded Research Coordination Network, "Deep
Time." The goals of this RCN are to develop methods for integrating
fossils into phylogenetic trees of extant taxa, with an emphasis on
angiosperms. Duties of the post-doctoral associate will include development
and maintenance of a web site for the project, development and maintenance
of a "Virtual Fossil Collection," participation in RCN research
and activities, and assisting with training activities of the RCN. Additional
research on a topic of mutual interest to the post-doc and PIs is expected.
A background in angiosperm phylogenetics and/or paleobotany is desired.
The position is available 1 March 2003; funding is available for up
to three years. The position will be housed in the Florida Museum of
Natural History at the University of Florida. Interested individuals
