2 May 06 F 570 cm Found alive in a fixed shore net. A camera crew shot a film of it. Then it was pulled up but it was already dead. This specimen is to be put on display at Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park, located in Kanagawa, Japan.

16 Nov 06 F 214.9 cm This megamouth was caught in a commercial shark gill net. This specimen is to be put on display at Regional Fisheries Center of Ensenada, located in Mexico.
39 off Taiwan 30 June 08 ? ? The only information on this megamouth capture is its weight (200 kg+) and capture date. There is no data on length or sex, nor are there any photos. Information from Victor Lin, pers. communication.
40 off Eastern Taiwan 10 July 08 ? 500-550 cm? This megamouth was reported to be 9 meters in length by the media, however it is more likely to have been 5-5.5 meters in length judging from the photo taken of this specimen. It weighed 870 kg, information from Victor Lin, pers. communication.
41 Philippines 31 March 09 M 400 cm? It was caught by fishermen. Weighing approximately 400-500 kg, the shark was sold for human consumption.
42 Taiwan 8 June 09 ? 390 cm It was caught by fishermen from the eastern county of Taitung. Weighing 350 kg, the shark was sold to a local shark museum where it will be preserved and displayed.
