Douglas Jones is Director of the Florida Museum of Natural History and
Curator of the Invertebrate Paleontology Division. Dr. Jones received
his Ph.D. in 1980 from Princeton University. He came to the FLMNH
in 1985 in the capacity of curator and a professor of geology
and zoology at UF. Dr. Jones has authored over 100 scientific
and technical papers and co-edited several books, including most
recently, "The Geology of Florida." He is a popular speaker around
Florida, but has also lectured at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Oxford,
Cambridge, and many other universities. He serves on the editorial
boards of several international scientific societies and is a
trustee and board member of numerous cultural organizations.
