The University of Florida Herbarium is a unit of the Florida Museum of Natural History.
The herbarium and the associated paleobotanical collection have combined holdings of approximately 1/2 million specimens, from which 60,000 are searchable specimens on-line and almost 20,000 high-resolution digital images. Our collection holds one of the largest collections of the flora of Florida and the Neotropics.
Our mission focuses in the acquisition and care of plant collections and we also serve as a reference collection for research projects in multiple disciplines of the biological sciences. Additionally we have an active role in education programs and public service.
