Systematics of Euptychiina

A project funded in part by the National Science Foundation (DEB# 1256742)

Major collaborating organizations:

University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA
Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Campinas, Brazil
Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Peru
The Natural History Museum, London, United Kingdom

Goals:

1. Reconstruct the phylogeny of Euptychiina using both molecular and morphological data and revise generic classification
2. Generic revisions for c. 40% of the subtribe
3. Training of graduate and undergraduate students
4. Testing hypotheses about speciation and diversification in Euptychiina
5. Development of collections and online tools for Euptychiina systematics
