The operation and programming for the Butterfly Rainforest, a living exhibit, and the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity require support through donations from private sources. By joining the Monarch Society, your gift will help support the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit, research (including graduate student support) and public programming at this world-class facility.
Benefits include:
- Name on the Monarch Society donor recognition board in the McGuire Center
- Invitation for two (2) to the annual Monarch Society reception
- Free admission to the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit (during regular Museum hours) for yourself and a guest for five (5) years
- Free subscription to the annual McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity newsletter
Entry into this prestigious society requires an outright gift or pledge of $10,000 or more, which must be completed within five (5) years from the date of the initial pledge.

These gifts help support various programs within the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity such as:
- The Butterfly Connection: A partnership with the Climb for Cancer Foundation and Arts in Medicine to provide cancer patients and their care givers the ability to visit the Butterfly Rainforest.
- Graduate Student field experience and research funding.
- Breeding program for endangered species and their reintroduction into protected habitats.
- Hiring and training of undergraduate and high school students for technical assistance in the collections and curation activities.
- Development of new public exhibits such as the planned Monarch Passageway of spectacular high-definition videos taken of the Monarch's winter hideaways in Mexico.
